5 Web Development Trends to Watch in 2018

It’s Monday again and I was thinking the tends might look like this year in regard to web-development so here goes:
1. Single/One-page websites
A one-page website is simply a single page website that uses only one page. When clicking on navigation links, the user scrolls down the page or jumps to that particular content’s section. The website may use JavaScript, jQuery, CSS3, or Ajax to accomplish this. The point is for all the important content to be in one place in a concise and straightforward manner.
2. Progressive web apps
Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) are web applications that are regular web pages or websites but can appear to the user like traditional applications or native mobile applications. This approach is becoming more and more of a trend since Google has announced that their index will be more mobile first from now on.
3. The death of flash
It’s been a well-known secret that flash is dead in terms of web-development. It’s no longer the cool thing it was in the 90s and it actually has negative effects on SEO if you use it today simply because Google and other search engines consider flash to be something that distracts the user and doesn’t allow the user to reach what they were search for immediately and thus there are SEO penalties.
4. Artificial intelligence
A simple example of Artificial intelligence in web-development may be a chat-bot or virtual assistant on an e-commerce site that can help you solve issues in relation to recovering your lost password for example or finding the cheapest pair on blue jeans for example without you needing to talk to an actual person via online chat or a phone.
5. Push notifications for websites
Web push notifications are notifications that appear on the desktop of the subscriber’s PC, even if the computer or browser was offline at the time the notification was sent. Web push channel is a great addition to traditional email and SMS campaigns. Web push is the best variant due to its delivery speed.
These are the trends I personally see getting a push this year.
