6 Reasons why your business needs a website
It’s time for my Monday thoughts. This Monday I decided to give a few points to everyone related to why your business needs a website. I am making this point because I have this conversation with potential clients. Some people don’t immediately see the value and gain they receive from having a website, even if, the site is a simple brochure type site.
1. It’s cost effective
It’s really cost effective in the sense that you know how much the website is going to cost you (or at least your designer/developer should tell you the cost outright). Even if you have a maintenance plan in place your already know the costs related to that. There is no hidden cost or at least there shouldn’t be. In other aspects of your business you might not know the exact expenses from before, e.g. the utility bills aren’t always fixed.
2. It’s accessible 24/7
Your physical location has working hours. Having a website means your business is available 24 hours a day. Having a contact form is the simplest form of this in the sense that I can contact you with an inquiry at 4 in the morning and get an answer when I wake up the next day. It doesn’t really matter that I was window shopping at 4am in the morning if that leads to a sale.
3. It’s convenient
Most people whether we like it or not are tired from a long day at work or just straight up can’t be bothered driving around looking for a store that has what they need. The internet is just more convenient since they can find anything they need on the internet in the comfort on their own home.
4. It gives credibility
Having a great website tells people who you are and what you do. It also tells them why they should trust you and why you are an authority in your industry. Credibility leads to sales period.
5. It should increase sales
A well-designed website means that your site is always accessible for people to see, it’s convenient and it gives you credibility as mentioned in previous points. If people trust you as an authority in your industry they will buy from you sooner or later assuming you have your own competitive edge.
6. It helps with marketing
Having a website and an online presence strategy allows you to market your business online. There are lots of marketing strategies you can use to advertise and market your business. There are many online marketing strategies that have been proven to be effective. Which ones you choose depends on the type of business you are in.
