What is the value of good customer service
It’s Monday again and as usual I’ll be putting my thoughts out there on a specific topic. As you can tell from the title I’m going to attempt to explain what the value of good customer service is. Here goes:
- Customers do not like to wait, so respond to questions quickly or explain why you cannot respond immediately. Be accurate about when something will happen, and then make sure it actually happens on time.
- A factor that is critical is attitude. When customers are treated with respect, courtesy, and professionalism, they not only appreciate the level of care but are more open to accepting delays if they do occur.
- Showing understanding and empathy more often than not will calm the most volatile customer.
- If you are the cause or you contributed to a situation, take responsibility. If you cannot personally fix the situation, ensure that it is fixed rather than just leaving it with the customer.
